Tournament Updates


  • 8/13/06   -   New photos from the Recruiting Showcae, Opening Ceremonies and Tournament Action have been posted on the Photo Gallery page, please visit.
  • 8/01/06   -   The results of the pool play drawing are now availible on the VTD website, as well as, the game schedule page of the tournament website.
  • 7/28/06   -  Template for pool and tournament bracket placement is now posted on the game schedule section of the website.

    ***Please note***

    There will be a pool bracket drawing at the coaches luncheon and then there will a second drawing after the completion of pool games to determine bracket placement. What your team draws at the coches luncheon does not determine your teams placement in the tournament bracket.

  • 7/25/06  - Just announced, the Arizona Diamondbacks Recruiting Showcase has reached its capacity and is no longer accepting registrations. So, please plan on signing up earlier for the next Showcase.
  • 7/20/06 - Please RSVP and the Coaches' Luncheon by completing the form (located on the tournament forms page) and either mailing or emailing (if you are not purchasing any additional tickets) it to Julie Steimer by July 24th. (One coach or representative is invited, all others must purchase a ticket for $15 in advance). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE TICKETS AT REGISTRATION OR DAY OF THE LUNCHEON SO PLEASE PLAN AHEAD!
  • 7/20/06 - The deadline to submit your teams photo, roster and information for the tournament program has expired, however YOUR TEAM STILL NEEDS TO COMPLETE THE TEAM INFO SHEET (located on the tournament forms page). It is imperative incase of inclement weather.
  • 7/19/06 - Tournament entry deadline is fast approaching. The deadline is this Friday, July 21st @ 5pm. So, get your registrations in.
  •                     ***Attention Coaches***
    Each team must login to the Virtual Tournament Director site and "Officially" register online as well as complete the printable "Official Tournament Entry Form" and mail to Joe Lane at 2602 E. Louise Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85032.


  • 7/12/06 - Attention Coaches --- Please make your travel arrangements accordingly--- Please plan on your team playing Sunday, August 6th after 6:00pm. Until we know exactly how many teams are entered, a game schedule will not be created. As soon as one is available it will be posted in the game schedule section of the website.
    Also,  there could be weather delays (this time of year is our monsoon season), so bracket play may continue Sunday evening before starting the Championship and "if" games. We are doing everything possible to not have games during the middle of the day, therefore the evening times slots on Sunday will most likely be utilized. ****PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY**

  • 7/12/06 - Rose Mofford, Former Governor of Phoenix and namesake for the Softball Complex where games will be held has amiably agreed to be the incomparable guest speaker at the Coaches Luncheon which will be held at the host hotel the Four Points Sheraton Monday, July 31, 2006 @ 11am.
  • 7/7/06 -
    Arizona's premier Baseball and Softball store will be at the host hotel Monday and Tuesday with merchandise to purchase and browse.
  • 6/29/06 - Begin your week at Nationals by joining us for a “picnic” and showcase. All players will receive a food coupon and a drink coupon to be used at one of our several food vendors’ booths. We will have a wide variety of food choices, including grilled hamburgers and hot dog's, salads, hot wings and pizzas.      
    The Diamondbacks Outreach Program will have a showcase opportunity for players – please register as early as possible for this event, there is limited space available. Their information flyer and registration form are included in this packet, just make as many copies of them as you need for your team members.

  • 6/24/06 - The Arizona Diamondbacks Softball Training Centers are hosting a pre-tournament Recruiting Showcase before the 2006 ASA 18U Western "A" National Championships in Phoenix, Arizona.  (Click here for more information!)

 

  • 6/14/06 - Please note the time of Opening Ceremonies has been changed from 9:30am August 1st to 11:00am August 1st!

 

  • 6/14/06 - Phoenix ASA and the City of Phoenix are very proud to announce Tim Hattrick, from the very funny morning show duo Tim and Willy on KNIX, has graciously accepted the honor of being Master of Ceremonies!

 

  • 6/6/06 - If your team is registered for this tournament and would like information regarding your team to be posted on the participating teams page, please complete the Program Roster and Information Sheet then either email or return to Julie Steimer at  7720 E.
